How to Get Good Conduct Certificate Online
With effect from February 4, it is going to be mandatory to receive a 'good conduct certificate' in order to obtain a work visa in the UAE.
As per a decision of the Council of Ministers No. (1/8) of 2017, which has been adopted recently by the Dubai Police Coordination Committee, the applicant should provide the certificate from his/her home country or from the country of residence where the person has been residing during the last 5 years.
This Certificate should be certified by the UAE missions abroad or attestation centers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of International Cooperation.
Long-term residents of the UAE seeking a new visa can apply to UAE Police departments for a certificate. Now to make the process simpler, Dubai Police posted a link on their official website through which the certificate can be applied online.
The link contains the cost, requirements and other useful information to secure the document.
In addition, applicant can apply for good conduct certificate using the Dubai Police app which can be accessed on all smartphones and is available in English and Arabic.

What is the Fees for Good Conduct Certificate?
The fee to obtain the good conduct certificate for UAE resident expats is 220 AED including 10 AED Knowledge and 10 AED Innovation Fee.
UAE nationals can get Good Conduct Certificate to travel abroad for just 120 AED.
If someone wish to apply good conduct certificate from outside the country, he/she will pay 320 AED including Knowledge and Innovation Fee of 20 AED.
Who will issue good conduct certificate?
The good conduct certificate should be issued by the country of origin of the applicant, or the country where he/she been living for the last 5 years.
It should then be ratified by the state's mission, as well as the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Once you have received your certificate of good conduct by authorities in your home country or the country you lived for five years, it is time to attest that certificate from UAE diplomatic missions or overseas customer happiness centers located at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation desks.
Will Visitors and Tourist require a certificate of good conduct?
A Certificate of Good Conduct is not necessary from those who holds visit or tourist visas.
The UAE Coordination Committee clarified that the certificate is not required from those who entered UAE on a visit or tourist visa.

Students, Tourists, visit visa holders, Dependents, family members or those who are visiting UAE on medical visa or Mission Visa do not need good conduct certificate.
Will UAE Residents need a Good Conduct Certificate?
No, those born and raised in United Arab Emirates will not require a good conduct certificate, but expats who spend some time in their motherlands (home countries) or any other country will require a good conduct certificate before applying for UAE Job Visa.

The good conduct certificate applies to all applicants either they are domestic workers or other professionals.

Expats lived or worked in multiple countries for more than 5 years (past five years) will need to produce a good conduct certificate from each country separately.
