New Rules for UAE Visa applicants has been announced by UAE Coordination Committee stipulating that all those who are looking for UAE work visa will require a good conduct certificate.

New UAE Visa Rules and Regulations has been confirmed and is approved by UAE Coordination Committee that take effect from February 4, 2018.


A good conduct certificate or a certificate of good conduct will be required for expats (workers) who apply for work visa anywhere in United Arab Emirates.

What is Good Conduct Certificate?
UAE Good Conduct Certificate or a Certificate of Good Conduct is an important certificate which serves as a proof that the expat has no criminal record, he/she is not involved in any criminal, breach of trust cases or Law violation in his/her home country as well as in UAE during his/her residence.

Reasons behind this New Visa Rule:
The UAE Coordination committee, who are working in UAE government departments confirmed that this new rule comes as part of efforts to create a safer society all over UAE.

Another reason behind this new rule came from the UAE�s belief in the importance of community protection to make UAE one of the most secure and save country in the world.

Who will apply for good conduct certificate?
All those who wants a Job Visa for UAE will require a good conduct certificate or a certificate of good conduct.

What is Job Visa?
Job visa for UAE allows the applicant to enter United Arab Emirates which is valid for 2 months from the date of issue.
Some expats call it 60 days Employment visa whereas it was previously known as Pink Visa.
Once you entered the great UAE on a Job Visa, your sponsor has 2 months (60 days) to complete the next process that is medical test, ID card typing and stamping of residence visa on Passport.

First Step:
If you are UAE expat and wish to apply for a Job in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other state, you must first obtain a certificate of good conduct.
Your work permit will approve only once you obtain a certificate of good conduct.

When it will start?
Rules for certificate of good conduct will take effect from February 4, 2018.
Yes, 4th February will be the day on which good conduct certificate will have to be produced whenever someone applying for a Job Visa.

How to get a Certificate of Good Conduct for Job?
UAE Coordination Committee who approved a Cabinet Resolution issued in 2017 stipulating that expatriates who are living in UAE or wish to travel UAE for Job purpose or who apply for work visa anywhere in United Arab Emirates must first obtain a certificate of good conduct, issued by either by his/her home country or the country where he lived for minimum 5 years.

Requirements for a Certificate of Good Conduct:
Once you have received your certificate of good conduct by authorities in your home country or the country you lived for five years, it is time to attest that certificate from UAE diplomatic missions or overseas customer happiness centers located at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation desks.

Will Visitors and Tourist require a certificate of good conduct?
A Certificate of Good Conduct is not necessary from those who holds visit or tourist visas.
The UAE Coordination Committee clarified that the certificate is not required from those who entered UAE on a visit or tourist visa.

Who do not need Good Conduct Certificate?
Students, Tourists, visit visa holders, Dependents, family members or those who are visiting UAE on medical visa or Mission Visa do not need good conduct certificate.

Will UAE Residents need a Good Conduct Certificate?
No, those born and raised in United Arab Emirates will not require a good conduct certificate, but expats who spend some time in their motherlands (home countries) or any other country will require a good conduct certificate before applying for UAE Job Visa.

Good Conduct Certificate for Domestics workers in UAE:
The good conduct certificate applies to all applicants either they are domestic workers or other professionals.

What about those who lives in Multiple countries?
Expats lived or worked in multiple countries for more than 5 years (past five years) will need to produce a good conduct certificate from each country separately.
The attestation process will also be the same here in UAE, expats will attest each certificate separately.
